Dr. Schüssler Salts – a story of success
What are Dr. Schüssler Salts and what do they do?
Minerals are as important for our body as is oxygen. The mineral salts fulfil a variety of functions: They support and regulate organ functions thus harmonizing dysfunctions. By this, they ease the way to recover from a variety of complaints and have a vital effect on the overall condition of the body.
At the end of the 19th century, the German physician Dr. Wilhelm Heinrich Schüssler discovered 12 essential mineral salts for the treatment of various ailments. As Dr. Schüssler postulated, the salts must reach the diseased cells directly – this is exactly the place where they are needed.
The biochemical therapy makes use of the basic 12 Dr. Schüssler Salts which were all discovered by Dr. Schüssler himself.
12 further salts, which are also important for the mineral metabolism of the cells, were discovered by Dr. Schüssler´s successors. These salts refine treatment and act as adjuvants to the therapy with the basic salts 1 to 12. Consequently, they were called “supplementary” salts and denominated with the numbers 13 to 24.
